Our mission is empowering people with M.E. to fulfil their potential and secure the care and support they need, while working towards a greater understanding of the illness and ultimately a cure. Avon Fire & Rescue offer free Home Fire Safety Visits to vulnerable people in our communities, to keep them safer from fire in their homes. During our visits we talk about fire safety and install smoke alarms and potentially other fire safety equipment, free of charge. Bath Ethnic Minority Senior Citizens Association (BEMSCA) has been established for 30 years. It began initially as a luncheon club service for the older people of the Caribbean, Asian and Chinese communities in Bath and North East Somerset. BEMSCA offers a space where all older people can meet and socialise with people from similar ethnic backgrounds to themselves. They can also access advice and information on a broad range of health, mental health and housing and welfare issues, which can be a life-line for people who do not speak English as their first language.
