Apply to deliver Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) provision

If you deliver holiday childcare or activities, you can apply to provide Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) provision for children and young people during school holidays.

What is HAF

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is a government-funded initiative that supports children and young people from low-income families during school holidays. HAF provides free holiday club places that include:
•    healthy meals
•    enriching activities
•    safe, high quality childcare

Who HAF is for

HAF is primarily for school aged children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits related free school meals.

We may also use some of the funding to support children who are not eligible for free school meals, where they would benefit from inclusive and engaging holiday provision.

Programme delivery in Bath and North East Somerset

From summer 2026, Bath and North East Somerset Council will manage the HAF programme in house and lead on programme coordination.

This follows updated Department for Education guidance and funding arrangements. It also supports wider government priorities for school aged childcare, including wraparound childcare and breakfast clubs, and local priorities such as Best Start in Life.

Apply to deliver HAF provision

The application window for summer and winter 2026 delivery is now open.

We are inviting both new and existing providers to apply to deliver HAF provision in partnership with the council, as part of a strong local provider network.

Application deadline

You must complete both parts of the application process by 5pm on Wednesday 6 May.

Applications received after this deadline will only be considered if funding remains available.
