FareChance
Learn new skills and get experience at the region’s biggest food charity.
FareChance is FareShare South West’s new Employability programme – established to help individuals gain the skills and confidence they need to find meaningful work in the long-term.
The programme is for people who are looking for potential opportunities in a range of industries including logistics, warehouse management, events and festivals, construction, project management – along with many other skills that cross over into a range of further careers.
Based at FareShare South West’s South Bristol warehouse on Vale Lane, BS3, the FareChance programme starts from Monday 5th December – date is flexible so get in touch to discuss.
Participants will work 2 days a week alongside the staff and volunteers as part of the warehouse team to gain practical, useful work experience.
Whilst on the programme, you’ll learn the basics of warehouse management including stock rotation and checks, order picking, and dispatch/delivery processes as well as gaining accredited qualifications in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety. All while supporting the operations team to manage and deliver good-quality surplus food to frontline charities, schools and community groups across the region.
As well as spending time in the warehouse and out on the FareShare South West’s fleet of vans, we will help you to set long and short term goals, write a top notch CV, gain crucial communication skills, take part in practice interviews and get support and signposting for next steps.
No previous experience or skills are required – just a willingness to turn up and get involved.
If you’re aged 18-24 and looking for meaningful work experience, get in touch.
