About the childcare provider
Description
At Ten Acre, I offer a unique, nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 5, grounded in nature, calm, and curiosity. Inspired by the principles of Hygge and the Curiosity Approach, my setting blends the warmth of a home-from-home atmosphere with the richness of child-led, exploratory learning.
I have a small, cosy cottage located in the rural area between Dunkerton and Englishcombe with a large outdoor space and a paddock and barn area. We are close to the Odd Down Park and Ride - convenient for those travelling to and from the City Centre.
Children are free to wonder, play, and grow at their own pace—whether it’s through woodland walks, sensory outdoor play, or quiet moments of meditation. Our days are slow, meaningful, and deeply connected to nature and the seasons.
I lead a plant-based, term-time only setting, offering optional holiday clubs subject to availability. With a strong focus on emotional well-being, creativity, and independence, I provide small group care where each child is truly seen and valued.
I live with my husband and two teenage daughters whom I home educated during their primary years.
Run by a qualified and experienced Early Years teacher and OFSTED Registered Childminder, Ten Acre is a space where early childhood is honoured, curiosity is celebrated, and memories are made.
