Bath Ethnic Minority Senior Citizens Association (BEMSCA) has been established for 30 years. It began initially as a luncheon club service for the older people of the Caribbean, Asian and Chinese communities in Bath and North East Somerset. BEMSCA offers a space where all older people can meet and socialise with people from similar ethnic backgrounds to themselves. They can also access advice and information on a broad range of health, mental health and housing and welfare issues, which can be a life-line for people who do not speak English as their first language.

The British Red Cross Mobility Aids service provides people with the equipment they need at home to live independently. You can hire a commode, toilet seat or toilet frame for £11 a week for up to 15 weeks. If you cannot afford the charge we may be able to offer further assistance.

The British Red Cross provides a UK wide wheelchair hire service, for short term use. We offer comfortable, safe and reliable manual wheelchairs. The wheelchairs are suitable for anyone over the age of 5 and are available in a wide range of sizes. Wheelchairs are available for collection at sites across the UK, including select Tesco carparks.
