The British Red Cross Mobility Aids service
The British Red Cross Mobility Aids service provides people with the equipment they need at home to live independently. You can hire a commode, toilet seat or toilet frame for £11 a week for up to 15 weeks. If you cannot afford the charge we may be able to offer further assistance.
If you find getting to, or using the toilet is difficult you may benefit from using a toilet aid.
This could be because your mobility is affected by dizziness, muscle spasms, tremors or aches. Or perhaps if you, or someone you care for, suffers from osteoporosis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy or are recovering from surgery or a stroke.
Having the right medical equipment can make a huge difference to someone’s independence, and our mobility aids team is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the support that they need.
