The below video shows what an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is. You will see that the video shows how an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment is required before a decision is made about whether your child will be referred for an Education, Health and Care Plan.
If your child is given an Education Health and Care Plan, this will be reviewed annually by the Local Authority. At this point, reports will be gathered from parents/carers and young people as well as all relevant professionals working with your child, and this will help inform the Plan.
The Council for Disabled Children have a useful leaflet for children/young people on sharing their views about their plan.
