At Bath and North East Somerset Council, we believe that independent travel is a valuable skill which can give young people the confidence not only to travel independently, but to develop transferable skills such as using money, reading timetables, communication skills, journey and time planning. B&NES Council offer this service to B&NES schools, using a highly reputable service called B&NES Travel Support through WSUN, who use proven and effective travel training techniques.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to access a Disabled Person's Railcard, offering discounted train travel. Further details of eligibility can be found on their website.

First Bus have Extra Help cards you can download and use to support you in discretely asking for extra support from the bus operator on your journeys, should you need it.
Bristol Airport have special assistance cards and lanyards available to identify to staff that a passenger may need more time to process information, help in avoiding crowded places or extra assistance in reading departure boards or flight information, for example. The card also encourages airport staff to use clear language when giving instructions. Airport staff will also be aware that passengers carrying a card may need to remain with a family member or companion at all times.
