Educational Psychology Service

The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) provides psychological advice to schools, early years settings and other providers, for children and young people with complex educational needs.

What does the Educational Psychology Service Offer?

We aim to improve learning outcomes for children and young people by the application of psychology. Educational Psychologists work collaboratively with parents/carers, teachers and other professionals, agencies and services such as the Children Missing Education Service (CMES), Statutory Special Educational Needs Service (SSEN), Hospital Education Reintegration Service (HERS), Early Years team and Social Care.

Our offer includes:

  • Collaborative calls (advice line) for educational staff
  • A link educational psychologist for all schools in Bath and North East Somerset
  • Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training and supervision
  • Consultation and supervision for educational staff
  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) Support
  • Advice following a critical incident
  • Psychological advice for inclusion in an Education, Health and Care needs assessment
  • Consultations for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan

Parents and carers, educational setting staff and other professionals can contact the Educational Psychology Service.
