FYP Interventions - Alternative Learning Provision (ALP) and Trauma Informed Practitioners (TISUK)
FYP’s Alternative Learning Provision (ALP) is designed for young people who may not thrive in traditional classroom environments. We offer a flexible and nurturing setting that supports both academic progress and personal development.
Bespoke Education Packages
FYP provides flexible, bespoke education packages tailored to individual learners. These packages include:
- Functional Skills in English and Maths
- Digital Skills
- ASDAN Short Courses
- ASDAN Life and Work Skills
- Personal Development Qualifications
- Employability Skills Training
Our approach ensures that every learner, regardless of background or experience, can achieve success through a combination of academic achievement, emotional support, and real-world skills.
FYP Interventions offers personalised support for young people through its Alternative Learning Provision, Trauma-Informed Interventions, SEMH Specialist Support, Mentoring Programmes, Bespoke Education and Post-16 Programme Packages.
We provide individualised, holistic, and engaging learning with a focus on empowerment and offers various qualifications and skills training. Mentoring connects young people with experienced guides for life skills, academic, sports, and transition support. SEMH support creates safe spaces to address emotional regulation, social interaction, self-esteem, mental health, and challenging behaviours. Recognising the impact of trauma, our interventions use therapeutic, strength-based practices in safe environments to build resilience and offer collaborative support. Our Educations and Post-16 Programme aids the transition to adulthood through personalised guidance, vocational courses, work experience, and life skills development, all underpinned by flexible, bespoke education packages.
Post-16 Programme
Our Post-16 Programme supports young people transitioning out of school and into adulthood. We help individuals explore their potential, gain independence, and prepare for further education, training, or employment.
Programme Highlights:
- Personalised guidance and career planning
- Vocational courses aligned with interests and strengths
- Opportunities for real-world learning and work experience
- Confidence-building and life skills development
Trauma-Informed Interventions
At FYP Interventions, we recognise that many young people carry the weight of past trauma, including Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). These experiences can deeply affect mental health, learning, and behaviour.
Our Trauma-Informed Approach and Interventions Include:
- Recognising the Impact of Trauma: Our staff are trained to identify and respond to trauma-related behaviours with empathy and understanding.
- Therapeutic, Strength-Based Practice: We focus on strengths, not just their challenges, using techniques that promote healing and growth.
- Safe, Confidential Environments: We ensure that every young person feels emotionally and physically safe to share and process their experiences.
- Building Resilience: We support young people in developing coping mechanisms, confidence, and emotional tools to navigate adversity.
- Collaborative Support: We work closely with families, professionals, and external agencies to provide a joined-up and consistent support network.
Our Trauma Informed Interventions are delivered by our Trauma Informed Practitioners accredited with ‘Trauma Informed Schools UK’ (TISUK)
SEMH Specialist Support
Our team offers dedicated support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This provision focuses on:
- Emotional regulation
- Positive social interaction
- Building self-esteem
- Mental health support
- Reducing and managing challenging behaviours
We create safe spaces where students feel heard, valued, and respected.
