About
Hidden Woods provides therapeutic Alternative Provision for children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), trauma and other barriers to education.
Our programmes are delivered within a safe, natural woodland environment by experienced practitioners who build trusting relationships and tailor every session to the individual needs, interests and outcomes of each child or young person. We work closely with local authorities, schools and families to provide personalised programmes that complement EHCP outcomes, reintegrate children into education where appropriate, and support longer term educational placements.
Our approach combines child led learning, woodland skills, practical projects, creative activities, sensory experiences and therapeutic outdoor learning to develop communication, emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, social interaction and readiness for learning. Sessions are carefully structured whilst remaining responsive to each individual's pace, interests and communication style, creating opportunities for meaningful progress in a calm, low demand environment.
