About

Young people are matched with a professional mentor who can win trust and build a relationship encouraging a young person to leave the house, try new things, have educational experiences and enjoy pursuing their own positive interests.

Mentoring Plus provide 1:1 sessions with a young person for up to 3 hours per week and a practitioner to support multi-agency processes and regular mentoring reports.

Our professional mentors provide tailored support for young people with complex needs, including SEMH, SEND, social isolation, and significant difficulties in education. This service is particularly invaluable for those experiencing school avoidance, not currently accessing education, training or employment (NEET), or in alternative provision - helping them overcome barriers, develop skills, and gain confidence.

Through positive and engaging weekly sessions, our mentors create a safe, trusting space where young people can express themselves, explore their interests, and try new activities.
We work closely with professionals, such as social workers and SENCOs, to ensure young people are heard and their needs are understood and met

In addition to our funded Professional Mentoring service, Mentoring Plus is offering free one-to-one mentoring for young people across BANES who are either:
•    Aged 16-17 and at risk of becoming NEET, or
•    Aged 18-21 and currently NEET.

Our mentors work alongside young people to build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop skills, and connect them with local opportunities including volunteering, training, and other positive activities that can help them move towards education, employment or training.

•    Free of charge
•    Individualised support
•    Up to 18 weeks of mentoring
•    Flexible and tailored to each young person's goals
•    Available to young people who live in B&NES

Funded through the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer Scheme (managed by WECA), this programme provides practical, relationship-based support for young people who may need extra encouragement, guidance, or someone in their corner as they plan their future.

If you know a young person who might benefit, we'd love to hear from you. Contact humphrey.pain@mentoringplus.net or call 01225 429694
