Shaw Trust Palmer Gardens
Palmer Gardens Garden Centre and Cafe, Trowbridge provides activities and training for adults with learning and/or physical disabilities.
Day Opportunities: Our Day Opportunities programme is open ended and is available to anyone over the age of 16. Activities include practical horticulture, customer service, crafts, retail and catering/ hospitality. We can work with you to develop employment skills, but the social emphasis means Palmer's is also a great place to meet and make friends!
Supported Internship: Open to 16-19 year olds who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), our Supported Internship programme is run in conjunction with Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and helps people gain real work experience in a garden centre or horticultural setting. During the Internship you will have the chance to try working in different areas of the business over a period of an academic year. Our on-site Job Coaches will support you and help you learn all aspects of the job.
Opening hours
Our Day Opportunities and Supported Internship services run Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm. Full and half days are available.
The Garden Centre is open 9am-5pm daily (10am-4pm Sundays) The Cafe is open 10am-3pm daily.
