Fresh Start in Education Ltd
Fresh Start in Education is a national provider with over 13 years’ experience of delivering one to one re-engagement and education packages to students who are having difficulties attending school or college for a variety of reasons that can include NEETs, SEND, SEMH, Chronically Sick, CYP experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), students who are excluded or at risk of exclusion and those with medical needs. We re-engage with and continue education whilst also supporting each student in a holistic way to overcome some of the challenges and barriers they have faced, or continue to experience, in a safe positive learning environment to increase their ability to succeed in readiness for reintegration into full time education, training, or local employment. We do not have premises and work in a student’s home environment or at a venue within their local community, e.g., library, leisure centre, community hub etc. Every venue, including the young person’s home is risk assessed, registered through the Risk Assessment Report and Daily Reports, which are recorded via the ES Portal, ProNet, (MIS). Each placement is bespoke and created for each student, including the Personal Learning Plan (PLP) Targets aligned to the EHCP, as applicable. Programme content is sufficiently broad and balanced to motivate and inspire, linking to the student’s strengths and interests to promote engagement throughout sessions. Each provision is differentiated according to the student’s profile of need, applying specific support intervention strategies to embed curricular content, consider the student’s capabilities, meet specific learning needs, eradicate barriers, and utilise teaching strategies that best suits them.
Engagement & Education Programmes
1:1 Placement sessions can be face to face or online using our secure learning platform, to engage with and continue education whilst also supporting each student in a holistic way to help them to overcome some of the challenges and barriers they may have faced or continue to experience.
All programmes are bespoke person-centred to meet individual student’s needs, and we aim for each child or young person to experience a positive learning environment that will help them to develop core transferable skills, giving them knowledge that enables them to recognise their strengths and aspirations to increase their ability to succeed in readiness for their reintegration back into full time education, employment, or training within their local area and community.
