About
ILBP Deputies Ltd provides professional Property and Affairs Deputyship services for adults who lack capacity to manage their financial affairs, following appointment by the Court of Protection.
We work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, care providers, families, and the Court of Protection, offering a responsive and solutions-focused service. Our role includes managing income and benefits, paying bills and care fees, overseeing property matters, and safeguarding assets — always with clear record-keeping and full compliance.
At ILBP Deputies Ltd, we understand the pressures faced by frontline professionals and in house teams. We aim to reduce risk, ease workloads, and provide reassurance that financial affairs are being handled ethically, efficiently, and compassionately.
Once appointed, we take responsibility for the lawful, transparent, and person-centred management of a person’s finances, always acting in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection guidance, and Care Act 2014 duties.
Our work includes:
-
Managing income, pensions, benefits, and entitlements, ensuring individuals receive the correct financial support
-
Paying care fees, household bills, rent, utilities, and insurance, helping maintain stability and prevent arrears or service disruption
-
Managing and safeguarding bank accounts, savings, and investments
-
Overseeing property matters, including maintenance, insurance, letting, or sale where required
-
Addressing debt, financial risk, or safeguarding concerns, including working alongside local authority safeguarding teams where appropriate
-
Keeping accurate records and annual accounts for submission to the Office of the Public Guardian
-
Making best-interest decisions that are proportionate, least restrictive, and clearly evidenced
-
Liaising with social workers, care providers, families, solicitors, and the Court of Protection to support joined-up decision-making
We place strong emphasis on individual wellbeing, ensuring that finances are used not only to meet essential costs, but also to enhance quality of life — for example, funding appropriate care, activities, personal items, or adaptations where these are in the person’s best interests.
ILBP Deputies Ltd understands the pressures faced by social work teams managing complex cases. We aim to reduce risk, prevent financial crises, and support defensible decision-making, offering clear communication, timely responses, and dependable follow-through.
Our approach is ethical, accountable, and collaborative, providing local authorities with reassurance that financial affairs are being managed safely and in line with statutory principles.
