Regulated Activities (CQC-Registered)
Regulated activities require providers to be registered with the CQC, as they involve personal care and health-related support that can impact an individual's well-being.
Personal Care (CQC-Regulated)
Personal care involves hands-on assistance with daily living tasks, often for individuals with reduced mobility, disabilities, or medical conditions. These include:
- Washing and Bathing – Assistance with hygiene, including showering, bathing, and hair care.
- Dressing and Grooming – Helping clients choose and put on clothes, including fastening buttons and zippers.
- Toileting and Continence Care – Support with using the toilet, managing incontinence pads, or catheter/stoma care.
- Eating and Drinking – Assistance with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring fluid intake.
- Medication Support – Administering prescribed medications, prompting clients to take medications, and managing medical equipment.
- Mobility Assistance – Helping individuals move safely around their home, including using mobility aids.
Non-Regulated Activities (No CQC Registration Required)
These services do not involve personal or medical care but still play a vital role in supporting individuals to live independently at home.

- Motion Sensors – Detecting movement to monitor activity levels and ensure safety.
- Fall Detection Devices – Automatically alerting carers or loved ones if a fall occurs.
- Environmental Sensors – Monitoring temperature, smoke, or carbon monoxide levels for safety.
- Remote Monitoring Systems – Allowing carers and family to check in on well-being remotely.
Choosing the Right Support
While regulated activities require CQC registration and trained staff, non-regulated activities can be provided by home help services, volunteers, or informal carers. Many home care providers offer both regulated and non-regulated services to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Live-In Care
Live-In Care: Support That Feels Like Home
If you need round-the-clock care but wouldn’t dream of leaving your home, live-in care could be just what you’re looking for.
Whether it’s help around the house, a friendly chat over a cup of tea, or support with personal care, your live-in carer is there to make life easier—without taking over! You stay in charge, making choices about your day, staying connected with family and friends, and enjoying the things you love.
We don’t just provide care; we listen. That’s why one of our supervisors or managers will pop by each year to check in, hear about your experience, and make sure everything is just right. After all, good care is about you—not just ticking boxes.
With the right support, home really is the best place to be.
