All-Aboard Watersports - Visual Impairment Friendly Watersports

All-Aboard is an accessible watersports charity based in Bristol Harbour, dedicated to removing barriers so everyone can enjoy the benefits of watersports. We have launched a watersports program for children and young people with Visual Impairments where they can learn to row in Bristol Harbour with the support of friendly and experienced volunteers. We will be launching a sailing taster day with a view to offering RYA Youth Stage Courses and in September we will be running a paddling taster day where you can try katakanu, SUP and kayaking.

Visual Impairment-Friendly Rowing: These sessions are designed for people with Visual Impairments to learn rowing in a fun and supportive environment. A taster day will be held on 6th May 2025.

Participants will learn fixed-seat rowing with the support of volunteers and an instructor on Bristol Floating Harbour. They will row in a lightweight rowing boat called 'Trinity' boats. Participants do not need any experience. Buoyancy aids are provided.

There will be sighted rowers on the boat with the participants and can give any support or feedback needed.

Following on from this, we will be running a regular monthly rowing session on the last Saturday of the month from 10.30 - 12.30

Visual Impairment-Friendly Sailing:  We will be running a sailing taster day on Saturday 28th June at 1.30 - 4.00.  This is suitable for children aged from 8 years old and you will learn to sail with our friendly, trained instructors.

Following on from this, we will be offering the opportunity to undertake RYA Youth Courses over the summer holidays

Visual Impairment-Friendly Paddling:  Get in touch with us to register your interest for our paddling taster day which will take place in September
