Life Cycle brings together visually impaired and disabled individuals who would like to go cycling and sighted volunteer ‘front riders’ who are willing to spend a day piloting a tandem, with a visually impaired individual riding ‘stoker’ at the rear.
Combined with our fleet of tandem bicycles this simple, effective, service, helps adults and children who are unable to ride a bike independently to experience the joys and freedom of cycling on a tandem.
Tandem cycling is a uniquely accessible activity for people with a visual impairment or mild physical disability because it doesn’t require any specialist equipment, facilities or training. Simply by having access to a tandem bicycle and a willing sighted ‘front rider’, participants are opened-up to a whole new world of possibilities.
Two’s Company offers an annual programme of friendly group bike rides every year, providing participants regular opportunities to experience a change of scene and a breath of fresh air, to exercise, to socialise and to feel part of a group.
