About

We currently offer a face-to-face befriending service, providing regular visits from a friendly volunteer who offers companionship, conversation and a listening ear. Whether sharing a cup of tea, chatting about shared interests or simply spending time together, these visits help reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and provide something to look forward to.

Our befriending service also helps older people stay connected to their local community, supporting confidence, independence and a greater sense of belonging while enabling them to continue living well in their communities.

Our befriending approach aims to support people to increase their confidence into our local activities and groups, with the support of a matched volunteer. We listen to people and shape our local offer around their feedback and interests. We can also signpost people to other local groups and activities, or organisations that can support you further.

If you are interested in volunteering with us to make a difference to the lives of older people in your community, please contact Tara Evans on 07565 296790. We have a variety of roles with various time commitment and would welcome an informal discussion with you.
