Down's Syndrome Association

The Down’s Syndrome Association is the only charity in the UK providing support for all aspects of Down’s syndrome. Our aim is to enable people who have Down’s syndrome to live full and rewarding lives. We support people who have Down's syndrome, their families/carers and professionals working with them across the whole of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) offers a wide range of services to support people with Down’s syndrome, their families, carers, and professionals — from birth through to older age. Here’s a structured overview:

  • Helpline:

  • Information Resources:
    Easy Read guides, factsheets, and toolkits covering topics like speech and language, behaviour, and adult life.

    Benefits Advice:
    Support with claims, appeals, and understanding entitlements — from childhood to retirement.

  • Education Support:
    Guidance on EHC plans, inclusive schooling, and transitions between education stages.

    Health & Wellbeing:
    Resources on physical and mental health, including specialist advice for complex needs.

  • DSA WorkFit:
    A tailored employment programme helping individuals with Down’s syndrome find paid work and volunteering opportunities.

    DSActive/DSEngage:
    Inclusive physical activity and wellbeing programmes.

  • Our Voice Network:
    A platform for people with Down’s syndrome to share views and influence DSA’s work

    Affiliated Groups Network:
    Support for local parent-led groups, including insurance, governance advice, and networking opportunities.

    Training & Events:
    Co-produced webinars, workshops, and forums for families and professionals.

    Complex Needs Support:
    Regular online meetings for carers of individuals with additional needs.
