Young Carers (The Carers' Centre)
It’s not always easy to recognise the impact of looking after a partner, family member or friend. The Carers' Centre is a local charity and friendly community dedicated to supporting unpaid carers in the Bath and North East Somerset area. The Carers’ Centre offer a range of services to help unpaid carers focus on their health and wellbeing, connect with others in a similar situation and navigate the challenges of caring for someone due to illness, disability, mental health difficulties, addiction or as they grow older.
For young carers' aged five and upwards, we offer a range of services. These include regular fun activities and opportunities that offer them a break from their caring role and focus on their own enjoyment. We also offer family days for all the family to join in together. These activities also offer the opportunity to engage with peers in similar situations and build a support network.
We offer young carers' needs assessments where we consider their caring role, identify any needs they have and any support we, their family or their school can provide.
We also offer the opportunity to join our Young Carers' Council where young carers can share their ideas, have their say about matters that affect them and meet lots of new friends!
