New Mums Sanctuary

New Mums Sanctuary is a supported, creative postnatal group for new mums struggling with their mental health. The group is part of Pathways to Wellbeing, the Holburne Museum’s creativity and wellbeing programme. The group offers a warm, non-judgmental space to be with other mums and enjoy gentle craft-based activity with experienced arts practitioners Skylarks Creativity.

Sessions will include a chat, hot drink and opportunity to make a sensory bag (all materials, designs and encouragement provided!). This is a small group with a maximum of eight mums.

The sessions are free to attend and will take place at the Holburne Museum, Bath. The group meets in the Gardener’s Lodge, a fully accessible space with baby-changing facilities, and an onsite Pay & Display Car park (help with car parking costs available).

This group is for new mums and babies up to 9 months old Mums experiencing mild/moderate post-natal mental health issues. We cannot support anyone in crisis - in an emergency please call the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust crisis line: 0800 953 1919. In an emergency, please dial 999.

The group is run by Chrissie and Esther (Skylarks Creativity) who have been working together for 22 years, creating safe spaces for families to explore their creativity. A support worker with a good understanding of peri-natal mental health will also be available.
