Keynsham Mencap - groups for children, young people and adults with Learning Disabilities

Keynsham & District Mencap work to improve the lives and opportunities of children and adults with a wide range of learning disabilities across Bath and North East Somerset.

A variety of social and leisure opportunities available for children and adults, with members from B&NES, Bristol and South Gloucestershire (and sometimes further afield) welcomed.

Clubs run weekly for juniors (5 - 18 years) and adults from 18 years and over, with some specific clubs for young adults.

Members have a broad range of needs and disabilities, including learning and physical disabilities, Autism, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Attention Deficit disorder.

Super Saturday Club

Ages: 5 – 18
Day: Every Saturday during school term time

Super Saturday club offers vital social opportunities for special needs children at the weekend.

We do a range of different activities including games, sports, arts and crafts, theme mornings, zumba, dance, music and so much more!

Club25

Ages: 25 and over
Day: Every Thursday
Time: 7:30 – 9:30pm

This is our group for adults with learning disabilities which meet every Thursday evening. We have a base at St Dunstans Church in Bristol Road. Each week members get a choice of going out in the community or staying at base for activities and chilling out with friends.

Go Explore Club

Ages: 18 – 25
Day: Every Wednesday

Go Explore Club is a social club for young adults with Learning Disabilities and aims to offer a range of fun, exciting and stimulating activities, with a focus on developing independence and life skills. Every third week we have a trip out into the community, such as bowling or meals out where members can develop these skills further.

Football

Ages: 16 or over
Day: Every Tuesday

Our football club gives our members aged 16+ the chance to enjoy a popular sport and improve their skills.

Boccia

Ages: 12 and over
Day: Every Wednesday
Time: 6:00 – 7:00pm

Music Man Project Keynsham

Ages: 16 and over
Day: Saturday Morning
Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm

The students come to share their musical tastes and to enjoy making music with friends, as well as learning about musical performance, improvisation and composition.
