Alternative Education (Youth Connect South West)

At YCSW we offer dynamic Alternative Education programmes for young people who cannot access mainstream education and have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). These programmes are run in partnership with B&NES Council and Bath College.

Arise ALP

Set within the therapeutic surroundings of Hartcliffe City Farm, Arise ALP offers 1:1 mentoring and alternative education for young people who are struggling to engage in a mainstream setting. We have a bespoke curriculum offer that is designed to cater for the individual needs of the students and has a strong focus on delivering quality academic sessions every morning. This is supplemented with an innovative and engaging vocational offer which is catered towards the individual interests and goals of the students We put the safety of our students at the heart of everything we do and build strong relationships with students, parents/carers, commissioning bodies and other professionals to ensure that our safeguarding is robust.

Bath City Farm

A child centred alternative provision program across our 37-acre farm site, where animals, gardening and nature shape our planning and support pupil’s growth. Suitable for children and young people aged 5 - 18+ with varying needs including SEND, SEMH and behaviour challenges. Sessions are led by an experienced session leader who devises a flexible, nurturing program that works on building trust and relationships with the young people.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am -3pm. Full days of project-based learning and outdoor natured-based education. We incorporate art and science as routes to learning collaboratively and understanding ourselves better.

Eclipse Education ALP

Eclipse offers bespoke learning packages at KS2, KS3 and KS4 which meet the academic,social and emotional needs of each of our young people. Every day students will have a mixture of English, Maths, at least one session in a wider curriculum subject that interests them, some therapeutic support and an enrichment activity which often supports PE / PSHE.

Edu-Action Bristol

Edu-Action supports young people that are not in or find mainstream education difficult. We support students from 6 to 18 years old. We offer an ASDAN curriculum and provide transport.

We have worked with local authority and area schools as a trusted and successful alternative learning provider since 2012, offering high quality alternative learning provision for vulnerable children and young people. We specialise in making education provision for: Children aged 8 – 16+ who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion, Children with SEND and SEMH, including those with EHCPs or undergoing EHCNA, Children in Care or with a Social Worker, Children with a CP Plan, including those at risk of CSE and CCE, Children Missing Education. Our service includes: Robust Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures, Ofsted school inspection framework compliance and Transport to and from our provision.

We specialise in providing Bespoke Alternative Provision Tuition for SEND/SEMH/Medical needs learners that cannot attend or access the school curriculum. This can be for a plethora of reasons; School-Based trauma, Severe Anxiety, EBSA, Medical Reasons, Mental Health, waiting for a school placement, EOTAS just to name a few. We support them to re-integrate and re-engage them towards education if any barriers have been made.

Science based alternative provision for children aged 5-13. 1:1 or small group practical science sessions for children with ASD, ADHD, trauma backgrounds and global delay. We are able to travel to your home or school within the B&NES area.

FYP Interventions

FYP Interventions goes beyond traditional classrooms to empower young people. Our Alternative Learning Provision offers a personalised approach that caters to young peoples needs and future goals. This includes academics, social and emotional development. FYP also connects young people with mentors for various needs, and our trauma-informed staff provide a safe space for healing and building resilience. Additionally, a Post-16 Programme helps young people leaving school navigate their next steps.
